Windows Server 2008 Adprep Download

Hi guys, I have the whole upgrade plan but just stuck or unsure on this bit. Running adprep.exe before adding the new 2012 R2 server to domain as a domain controller. I know 2012 DVD comes with 64bit version of adprep.exe.
Where should I run this on the existing domain? All my domain controllers are 2003. I have also been told to just run ADDS wizard on 2012 R2 server when adding as domain controller but others have said to run adprep separately. Current domain functional level is Windows Server 2003 Thanks guys. I get an ear full from staff about how the PW requirements are to complex. Tell them its a security requirement from Microsoft due to the number of world wide hacking/extortion attempts due to poor user password security and you'd hate to see one of them sacked all because they didn't have the intelligence to use a password other than Password or abc123. The send them an email on how to come up with a complex password that is easy to remember ie pick a familiar word, change some of the letters to numbers that are easily recognizable ie 3's for e's etc and wack some symbols in there ie a + at the start or end etc It's a 24/7 connected world, your data networks are accessible to people from all over the world 24 hours a day. Haha thanks for your input mate! Should I expect applications like SAP, exchange 2010 SP3 RU7, sharepoint 2013 to break during this addition of the 2012 R2 DC to 2003 domain environment? Since it does domainprep, schema update and forestprep, not sure what it will do to applications exchange, sharepoint and SAP and CRM. What does ADPREP do ADPrep merely extends the AD schema and permissions of a 2008 AD Domain (or whatever earlier version you are currently running) to get it ready to run/be compatible with the newer version that you are about to put on. In essence, your current AD schema is already backwards compatible with earlier right? Well this gets your current AD ready to be forwards compatible with a newer one.
