I am trying to do a fresh install of windows 7, as we know the only way to get an ISO from Microsoft is to first provide a valid product key (non OEM or enterprise). Lucky for me I wrote mine down and have it! The tool accepts it and will let me download the ISO (yay!), unfortunately it asks me to choose a language, and the 2 options it gives me is French or Korean. Since I speak/read/write/type/ in English, I'm not sure how this is useful or why it is happening. I know I can borrow a disk from a friend (I have asked them all) or download from a torrent (seems to risky and should not be needed).

My question is, why is this happening, why would I need or want windows in a foreign language, and if I did download it and simply changed the language would it be the same as an actual English version. Thanks in advance for your replies!! If you did download it and changed the language it will be 100% the same as an actual English version. And just a heads up, in order for the computer to 'read' the iso, you will need a virtual cd-rom. You can download it here. As the install goes, you can still use the computer for the first portion by hitting the start button on your laptop and opening a program from there.

This will be useful if you need to translate the language. I would suggest getting the french version. I tried this and it won't let me change the language in the installer, I am sorry I forgot to indicate the version I am using. It is windows 7 pro.
