Hi Robin, I get the same error here sometimes. When this happens I cannot download or upload using CHIRP. It seems to happen after I write to the radio with the Baofeng software. I am guessing that some how the ident that CHIRP is looking for gets changed. Anyway, my workaround for the time being has been to reset the radio.
